KÜRT Data Recovery as a Hungarikum
KÜRT Co. since its more than 30 years of existence, it has received numerous recognitions and awards for its activities. In January 2014, we had the honor of having our Data Recovery Technology declared Hungarikum by the Hungarikum Committee.
The organization operating within the Ministry of Rural Development launched several series of events to promote Hungarikums. KÜRT Adatmentés also participated as an exhibitor at the Hungarikum Weekend held in Buda Castle between 24.07.2014 and 27.07.2014.
It is difficult to present the technology in a tangible way and some of it cannot even be moved, but we still tried to show our knowledge. At the opening, we burned and then threw the hard drive with the photo of 41 Hungarikum into the water. Our task was to retrieve the data from the severely damaged external drive by the end of the festival.
Although the circumstances can be said to be extreme, KÜRT has encountered a similar case in the past 30 years. In an apartment fire, unfortunately, in addition to our personal belongings, our valuable data are exposed to the harmful effects of the fire and, as a result of extinguishing it, the water. A successful recovery is influenced by many circumstances and unfortunately in 20% of cases even KÜRT cannot help.
However, if we entrust the work to a professional immediately after any data loss, we give the best chance of successful data recovery.
Kürt Data Recovery during the Hungarikum Weekend
It was no different at the Hunkarikum Weekend, as after the spectacular presentation, the damaged hard drive was immediately sent to KÜRT’s modern cleanroom laboratory, where we started work. The task was not easy, because the outer housing burned onto the hard drive, and water also got into its clean inner area.
After replacing the parts and thoroughly cleaning the disc in several phases, we managed to breathe enough life into it to make a physical copy of it. This is essential from a security point of view, since the operation of the original device is uncertain. In all cases, we use several data recovery solutions in order to achieve the perfect end result, but we would have no more chance on a damaged device.
The hard work paid off:
we successfully restored the image of 41 Hungarikum.
